NOA: Exceptional Wines from Vayots Dzor, Armenia

NOA is a small-scale winery located in the Vayots Dzor region of Armenia, renowned for its high-altitude vineyards and ancient winemaking heritage. Founded by Jakob Schuler of Switzerland’s Schuler Winery, NOA stands out for its low-intervention viticulture and its focus on Armenian indigenous grape varieties. NOA’s vineyards, located in the prestigious micro-zones of Rind and Aghavnadzor, are perched between 1,200 and 1,500 meters above sea level, offering ideal conditions for cultivating these rare varieties.

Indigenous Grape Varieties: A Remarkable Heritage

NOA takes pride in promoting Armenia's indigenous grape varieties, treasures that reflect the region's rich winemaking history. Among these rare varieties are Areni, Voskéhat, Khatun Kharji, Tozot, Milagh, Areni Blanc, and others. One of NOA’s standout wines is the Cuvée Blanc Réserve, a unique blend combining rare varieties like Chillar, Garan dmak, Khatouni, Voskehat, and Areni Blanc. This distinctive wine perfectly illustrates the diversity and richness of Armenian grapes, offering a refined expression of NOA’s terroir.

High-Altitude Vineyards: Rind and Aghavnadzor

NOA’s vineyards are located in the micro-zones of Rind and Aghavnadzor, within the Areni commune. These vineyards are renowned for their century-old vines and high-altitude terroir, situated between 1,200 and 1,500 meters. This elevation allows for slow grape maturation, resulting in wines with finesse and elegance, while maintaining natural freshness due to the cool nighttime temperatures.
